Vegetarian Restaurant Displayed Fake Halal Certificate

PETALING JAYA: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) raided a restaurant on the vegetables (vegetarian) for obscure foreign Muslim customers by posting a halal logo on their premises without obtaining a valid certificate of lawful 8/1E Street yesterday.

The restaurant was found to be using ingredients believed to contain alcohol, however large halal logo patch on the front entrance of the premises concerned for the obscure points of Islamic customers

Assistant Branch Director of Monitoring and Enforcement Division JAKIM Halal Hub, Mohd Amri Abdullah, said the raid at about 11 am was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs (the ministry) Shah Alam result of public complaints and intelligence.

“The premises are arranged, however, the result of a kitchen space, we found that male chefs include Myanmar nationals suspected of alcohol use vinegar to the dish is presented,” he said yesterday.
