TEHRAN, Feb 28 (Bernama) — The first International Halal Food Exhibition will be held at the Tehran International Trade Fair from March 2-5, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported.
Deputy head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines for international affairs, Mehdi Fakheri said that the event, which would be participated by 12 countries, will be held in an area of 3,500 square meters.
The participant will present their products in the four categories of Halal food, pharmaceuticals, make-up and hygienic materials, he said.
Saying that the international Halal food trade is worth US$500 billion, he noted that in some areas, non-Muslim countries have overtaken the Muslim states.
Referring to the compilation of Halal Standard Document by Iran’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Islamic Chamber Research and Information Centre, Fakheri said that a seminar will also be held to discuss the scientific and jurisprudential objectives of Halal.
A seminar on renewable energies will also be held during the exhibition, he said.
