KUCHING, Aug 17 (Bernama) — Sarawak is exploring the possibility of having technical cooperation with Bosnia-Herzegovina, particularly in the development of energy resources and halal hub in the state.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud recently led a high-powered delegation to Bosnia-Herzegovina with a view to engage their technical expertise for the state’s hydro and coal mining sectors as well as the Tanjung Manis halal hub, which was being developed under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy.

“Negotiations are still in the early stages,” said a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office Tuesday.

During his working visit, Taib had met with the Chairman of Bosnia-Herzegovina Dr Haris Silajzic besides being conducted on a tour of Bosnian valley of the pyramids in Sarajevo.

Earlier, Taib had also visited University of Oxford in London for the inaugural Oxford Global Islamic Branding and Marketing Forum, which was also attended by Tanjung Manis Member of Parliament Datuk Norah Tun Abdul Rahman.
