KUALA LUMPUR, 19 NOVEMBER 2009 – Red Bull Malaysia has edged out rivals to become the number one energy drink in Malaysia according to the Nielsen Company research with a 40% market share within its category. The infamous energy drink has been on top of the list within the energy drink category for the last decade with an average increase in market share of 75% over the last three years. The recent findings further validate Red Bull’s success in its category as the leading energy drink in Malaysia .
Red Bull energy drink which was first introduced into the Malaysian market in 1993 is certified ‘halal’ and comes in three versions namely; Red Bull Bottle (RBB -150 ml), Red Bull 25% Less Sugar (RBX – 250 ml) and Red Bull Gold (RBG – 250 ml). All these products are in accordance to local food regulations as stipulated by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Red Bull is well known globally as an energy drink to keep you alert and energised and often associated with an active lifestyle, such as athletes and hard working people that are always on the go. Today, one in three Malaysians have tried and consumed Red Bull making it the leading brand in its market sector reaffirming the Nielsen Company results. The popularity of the beverage is well received by all Malaysians not only within the Central area but also in the North, South, East-Coast and East Malaysia.
