The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development of Malaysia or better known as MeCD is currently running a program to help Bumiputera entrepreneurs to advertise and promote their products and/or services via Malaysia mainstream mass media. The 7-day event, which kick-start on the 17th of February 2009 is expected to gather more than 100,000 Bumiputera entrepreneurs. MeCD has allocated RM5 million worth of grant fund to potential Bumiputera entrepreneurs in order to increase promotion activity for their product and/or services. Each eligible entrepreneur or company are entitled to receive up to 50% funding for their selected advertisements. Apart from the advertisement program, MeCD has also lined up numerous activities which include entrepreneurs briefing and clinic to assist and to encourage Bumiputera entrepreneurs on how to go about with their businesses in today’s turbulence context. On another note, DagangHalal.com has been appointed as online media partner by MeCD to promote advertisement via internet. Apart from that, our objectives are to inform prospective merchants on other avenue in promoting halal products or services i.e. via our portal at www.daganghalal.com and to promote Malaysia as a global halal hub in general.
