MISC Expands Reach To Chennai And Yangon

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 (Bernama) — MISC Bhd announced the beginning of its new East India Service (EIS) with first sailing from Yangon, Myanmar, on Monday as part of its expansion and growth as Asia’s premier carrier.

Through EIS, MISC is offering a dedicated weekly service between East India and Myanmar. The service offers offer routing from Yangon, Chennai, Colombo, Chennai and back to Yangon, the shipping company said in a statement.

With just a three-day transit time between Yangon and Chennai, EIS has one of the most competitive transits in the market.

This unique offering will provide customers with a fast and efficient new service to assist in their trade growth.

The new service will also allow customer in the region to access MISC’s premium Halal Express Services at Colombo and reach the Middle East and Far East markets, MISC said.

This weekly service will be served by two of MISC’s 700 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) capacity vessels, Bunga Mas 11 and Bunga Mas 12, with a minimum of 60 reefer plugs.

The injection of MISC’s own vessel, supported by experienced personnel and an extensive agency network, will ensure its customers of service quality, commitment and reliability.

The launching of EIS also sees MISC further intensify its commitment to its customers in India as the company now adds Chennai to the list of India ports currently called by MISC’s vessels, such as Nhava Sheva and Pipavav.
