The Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2011 (MIHAS 2011) next month will be the best platform for Muslim and foreign countries to acknowledge and adopt Malaysia’s halal certification system, by launching the 8th showcase from April 6 to 9 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
During MIHAS 2011, the world’s largest Halal trade fair, the International and local Exhibitors will showcase halal products related to beverages, food, herbal, body care products, pharmaceuticals, toiletries, cosmetics, packaging, banking and insurance.
In conjunction with MIHAS 2011, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will be organising an Incoming Buying Mission (IBM) which will be held from 5 to 6 April at Menara MATRADE, Kuala Lumpur. This programme is an integral component of MIHAS, which acts as a platform for Malaysian exporters and foreign exhibitors to meet with international buyers.
Expecting a big numbers of sales, exhibitors & visitors during MIHAS 2001, Dato Dzulkifli Mahmud Senior Trade Commissioner of MATRAD, Dubai said: “Under the theme “Expanding your business horizon”, MIHAS 2011 aims to reach out to the halal players in the international market with expecation of attractin over 500 buyers from 50 countries, specially after the achivements of last year of MIHAS, with total sales of US$400 million with over 32000 trade visitors from 81 countries and 600 booths”.
Over the past seven years, MIHAS has succeeded in creating extensive business opportunities and networking for various halal industry players worldwide. MIHAS has also been the focal point for global traders, entrepreneurs and manufacturers to promote and launch their halal products and services. He added
“Malaysia as a member of Organisation of Islamic Countries, give strong emphasis in manufacturing and exporting halal products and services for the world. MATRADE Dubai inviting GCC companies who want to visit MIHAS 2011 to contact MATRADE Dubai for pre arrange business meetings with Malaysian companies during MIHAS 2011”.
“Strong Malaysian companies present during Gulfood Trade Exhibition in Dubai from 27 February to 2 March 2011 proved that Malaysia companies has a lot to offers to buyers from GCC countries, and the international business community is urged to participate in MIHAS 2011 which has established itself as the premier event frequented by the Halal business community around the globe” said Dato’ Dzulkifli Mahmud.
“Malaysia’s halal certification has been recognised internationally and its acceptance would make it easier for Malaysian firms to establish business ties with countries around the world” Dato’ Dzulkifli added
He expressed his hope saying:”It is my hope that some of the Arab countries players can learn and bring back this halal certification to their own respective countrie, especially because Malaysia’s halal certification has become the country’s strength in promoting and marketing halal products as the certification was recognised internationally”
