Karnival BEST At Putrajaya

Putrajaya, 18 Oct – The Malaysian Islamic Development Corporation (Jakim) will organize an entertainment carnivals called Karnival Buat Elok Saja Tau (BEST) to serve as a guideline for concert organizers in the country about the criteria need to be followed according to Islamic teaching.

“It’s a guideline and not something that is compulsory. Through such carnivals, Jakim will give advice on what should be done by all organizers of entertainment carnivals,” he told reporters, here today.

Earlier he launched the book “Koleksi Doa Imam Masjid Negara”, published by the National Mosque, as well as the Karnival BEST.

“BEST” is the acronym for the phrase “Buat Elok Saja Tau” (Do Only the Good Things) and will take place at Laman 1Malaysia, Putrajaya from October 28 – 30, here.


Laman 1Malaysia at Precinct 2 Putrajaya will be the venue for Karnival BEST on 28 to 30 October.

He said Jakim would hold similar carnivals in other places to promote the guidelines.

Director of Jakim Family, Social and Community Development Division, Saimah Mukhtar said the carnival will be held at Laman of 1Malaysia, Precinct 2 here, will expose the public on the guidelines must be adhered to when a concert was held entertainment.

Through the carnival, he said, Jakim will practice guidelines in accordance with the teachings of Islam which was introduced Jakim since 2007.

“Our main goal (Jakim) through this carnival is the sharing of knowledge with the community.

“They need to know, it’s not wrong to hold an entertainment carnivals, but let it be done in a manner that does not conflict with religious law,” he told reporters after attending the Karnival BEST launching ceremony organized by Jakim here yesterday.

The three days carnival will be joyful of various activities. Among them are JUARA NASYID BEST competition, aerobics, competition dye and Battle of the Band competition.

Apart from that, it also will be brightened up with exhibition booths and sales through stalls that available at the carnival site start at 9.00 am until 10.00 pm every day.

Meanwhile, Saimah said, concert that will take place in the second day of the carnival on the other hand will be joyful with local artists’ presence.

“Among artist who have confirmed their attendance to the carnival including Altimet, Ila Damia Mentor, Fahrin Ahmad, Mestica nasheed group and In-heart,” she said.

The carnival also receive cooperation from government agencies and non-governmental bodies (NGO) such as Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), Royal Police Malaysia (PDRM) and Malaysia AIDS Council.
