Kuala Lumpur, 12 August – Ramadhan Al-Mubarak will be brighter for 40 Malaysians living with HIV, including orphans and communities from two orphanages and two shelter homes, this year thanks to the generosity of the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) and its strategic partnership with DagangHalal.com, Radius International Hotel and Maybank Berhad under their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
This special ‘Majlis Iftar Ramadhan 2011 bersama Komuniti yang Disayangi’ event was organized by MAC, in collaboration with DagangHalal.com and Radius International Hotel, was held at Radius International Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, and was graced by MAC President, Tan Sri Mohd Zaman Khan Rahim Khan, MAC Vice President Hisham Hussein, DagangHalal.com Chief Executive Officer Khairil Ismahafiz Muhadzir, Radius International Hotel Kuala Lumpur Chief Executive Officer Albert Ng, Senior Vice President Datin Meiwun Mellany, corporate partners from Maybank Berhad, government stakeholders and agencies, MAC Board of Trustees, media representatives and event organizing committee.

The purpose of this special event was to deliver a memorable Iftar Ramadhan gathering between MAC, its corporate partners and Community living with HIV whereby corporate sponsors distributed donations in kind and cash to the Malaysians living with HIV who attended this event.
The creme de la creme of the event was when DagangHalal.com Chief Executive Officer Khairil Ismahafiz Muhadzir, accompanied by Faizal Tahir, a Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporter and and ambassador-spokesperson for PAL scheme presented the orphanage with ‘duit raya’ and goodies bag containing a variety of Halal food products and beverages.

This Ramadhan Iftar ceremony was also graced by the presence of Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters (RRCS) including Fahrin Ahmad, Datin Paduka Umie Aida, Faizal Tahir, Dayang Nurfaizah, Owen Yap, Shah Shamsiri and Zainal Alam Kadir. The celebrities also spent time mingling and chatting the night away with the community living with HIV.
In his remarks, Khairil Ismahafiz is thankful and delighted that DagangHalal.com is able to collaborate with MAC in organizing this special event. “This gives us (DagangHalal.com) great pleasure as we are able to reach out to the women, children and the community living with HIV and AIDS and help them to cheer up for this upcoming festive season”.

The event ended with the audience being entertained by an entertaining Nasyid performance by orphans from Rumah Solehah, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
