News From : DagangHalal.com (13 Oct 2015)

The international food and drinks industry will once again be meeting up at Anuga in Cologne from 10 to 14 October 2015. With over 7,000 exhibitors from 108 countries, Anuga is the world’s largest and most important trade fair for food and beverages. The exhibitors will present their range of products to an international trade audience from over 180 states. The trade fair focuses on new products, innovative trends and future-oriented concepts. In this context, the special event taste15 takes on an important function as a trend barometer for the buyers and as a source of inspiration for the global food business. Selected by a jury comprising of trade journalists, the top new products of Anuga 2015 are presented at a glance. In total, over 830 companies have applied to have their over 2,000 ideas included in the special event. The best products will be showcased in an attractive exhibition on the trade fair boulevard. The catalogue of the exhibition will exclusively appear online.

In total, the jury selected 61 products and concepts that convinced in terms of their idea, innovative power and creative implementation – spanning across all ten Anuga trade shows. One of the strongest current trends is the theme convenience. More and more single or small households are purchasing ready-made meals, preferably in smaller portions. A large selection of dishes and snacks for the microwave or the toaster are thus found among the Anuga taste15 entries. However, this doesn’t stop the consumers from paying attention to the quality, sustainable production or target-group specific offers, i.e. “free-from” products. “free from” means for many people: Dispensing with the use of preservatives, artificial aromas and additives. Some products meet several demands at the same time and are promoted using “triple-free” slogans. But also vegetarian and vegan lifestyles demand “free-from” products, if the consumer consciously doesn’t eat meat or animal products in general. The spectrum of products is expanding significantly here and even popular and imported dishes are being launched onto the market as vegetarian alternatives.

The consumer is curious about everything new. Thus the motto is: In general, everything is possible as long as it tastes nice. Such as chicken gelati estragon, introduced as a new apero product or gelato di verdura, a new vegetable ice-cream. Unusual taste compositions such as smoothies with spinach and coconut milk, olive drinks with cucumber and juniper, algae drinks or “fresh blood” are also in demand. The important thing for all products is that they are high-quality, diverse in taste, healthy and at the same time convenient to prepare. The selection ranges from cheese spatzle, cheese with needles from the Swiss stone pine, pesto alla Genovese in single-portion cups, the Curry King Real Veggie, through to salami sandwiches for that small between-meal hunger. Snacks like Tillmans Ping or the closed toast in the flavours bacon and egg or Mediterranean chicken that are suitable for the microwave or the slightly more exotic version, sabz miloni haiyali, the classic Indian vegetarian vegetable variety followed by a vegan pumpkin/quinoa dessert completely fit in with the convenience lifestyle way of thinking. The microwave cup cakes are also fast and easy to prepare. Just add water, stir, and the cup cake is ready to enjoy after 120 seconds in the microwave. Accompanied perhaps by a frozen herb tea, the alternative to the classic flavoured and dried herb teas. The industry is getting ready for the European Football Championships in France in culinary terms with the European Champion fried sausage.

In addition to the “Anuga Taste15” special event, Anuga is also highlighting the theme of “Trends” in all its facets. For example, with a special event and lectures on worldwide trends in the Anuga Trend Zone, presented by the market research institute, Innova Market Insights. Or in the scope of the high-profile iFood Conference on 12 and 13 October. The Anuga Organic Market is also one of Anuga’s trend shows.

Anuga is exclusively open to trade visitors from the retail and food service trades from Saturday, 10 October 2015 until Wednesday, 14 October 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on all days.
