“Thai food is undoubtedly one of the country’s most important export items, generating over 20 Billion USD in revenue for Thailand. Top growth items include fruit and vegetables – either fresh, frozen or processed – which grew by 6.8%. The next high-growth items are seafood – either frozen, canned or processed – which grew by 2.7%. Moreover, many new economic measures which will take effect in many of Thailand’s major trading partners such as the Expansionary Monetary Policy in the United States; the clearer economic policies in Japan; and, the expected ongoing economic growth in China and Asia will all be favorable to Thailand’s food exports during the later half of the year.”, noted Mrs. Srirat.
