KUALA LANGAT, Sept 1 (Bernama) — The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today launched E-Fitrah, a facility which gives people in Selangor the option of paying their tithe online.
This is the second facility provided by the Selangor Zakat Board (SZB) for the management and distribution of tithe in Selangor, following the short messaging service (SMS) method introduced last year, SZB said in a statement.
Payments can be made by visiting www.ezakat.com.my/ezakatpay.
So far, clients of four banks, Malayan Banking Bhd, CIMB Bank Malaysia Bhd, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd and Public Bank Bhd can make use of the facility by visiting the respective websites of these banks, the statement said.
The E-Fitrah service is free of charge and payment receipts will be posted within 14 working days, it added.
Meanwhile, at the same event, Sultan Sharafuddin also presented tithe aid to 200 poor people in Kuala Langat, at the Al Ihsan Mosque in Kg Sg Lang Tengah, here, with each person receiving between RM550 and RM1,000.
