Pakistani poultry products are capable enough to fulfil demand for Halal food in European and other western countries, Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim stated this while visiting the stall of K&Ns at the Pakistan Expo 2011 here on Friday.
Makdoom Amin Fahim said, “Pakistan Expo 2011 is the platform where local entrepreneurs can showcase their products before foreign potential clients and bring massive business and foreign exchange to the country.” CEO K&Ns, Khalil Sattar, requested the Commerce Minister to initiate the process of getting Pakistan approved as meat exporter of Halal Food in importing countries.
He said that EU and GCC countries can become the importers of Pakistani Halal food as there is an increasing demand for exports of value added chicken products in these countries.
He also said that Pakistani poultry farmers were observing an increasing interest for Halal products in the European Union and North America; therefore, it is high time the government takes immediate measures and makes the most of the opportunity to earn valuable revenue for the national exchequer besides supporting local farmers amid prevailing crisis.
“Such exhibitions are needed to give a boost to the economic activities and K&Ns is here to exploit every opportunity to make contribution towards Pakistan’s economy,” CEO K&Ns concluded.
