Muslims in this country are requested be carefully when dining at hotel because now there only 18 of 2,360 hotels which obtains certification of Halal from Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC). Deputy Minister In Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Dr. Mashitah Ibrahim say among factors caused many hotel had not applied the certificate are because they refuse to do modification to separate between Halal food kitchen by those illegal. Dr. Mashitah Ibrahim added, 31 hotels on process to approval, 4 new application, 64 in process completing forms and 3 has expired and on renew certification of Halal. According Siti Zailah Mohd, that amount does not include which hotel are get Halal certificate from Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
