Since 2013, the number of halal restaurants in Japan has risen from four to 180, including gourmet restaurants serving traditional Japanese dishes, reports “Arab News”. Therefore, Muslim athletes and tourists need not worry about halal food in Japan during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Malaysia also wants to set up a central halal kitchen during this time.
Japanese Wagyu beef is now also being served halal in Japan, the newspaper said. Examples of halal restaurants in Tokyo are Asakusa Sushi Ken, Sumiyakiya Halal Grill, Hanasaka Ji-san and KO-SO Cafe Biorise.
