Moe Meatworks Suspends Operations

News From : DagangHalal.com (17 Apr 2009)

The Gippsland-based abattoir, Moe Meat Packers, has had to suspend its operations, standing down about 50 workers.

The business shares its site and is supplied by two companies, GH Kiely and Alliance Pastoral, that are now in the hands of administrators.

Those companies employed another 30 to 35 people at the Moe yards. Alliance Pastoral bought the cattle, Moe Meat did Halal slaughtering and GH Keily did the boning and packing.

A spokesman for Moe Meat says the business is undergoing a shutdown until administrators decide the future of the two other companies.
