MISC Integrated Logistics Sdn Bhd (MILS), the integrated logistics arm of MISC Bhd (3816), said its storage and warehousing facilities in Pulau Indah, Port Klang have been certified halal- compliant by the Halal Development Corp.
The certification was awarded based on the merits of hygiene and syariah-compliance of both dry and cold storage ambient.
“With this certification, coupled with MISC’s Halal Express Service shipping route, halal certified products from various sources can be consolidated and distributed to halal markets in the world, making the MISC group one of the few companies truly offering customers the entire value chain in halal logistics, “MISC said in a statement issued last week.
MILS’ 250,000 sq ft dry warehouse can handle 23,000 pallets in capacity. It offers centralised storage for regional distribution, packaging and labelling, transshipment centre and a sterilisation/decontamination facility, which includes two ethylene oxide chambers.
Its cold storage facility, meanwhile, is able to accommodate temperatures ranging from +18 degree Celsius to -25 degree Celsius. The cold room is equipped with mobile racking solution with capacity of 8,500 pallet positions for frozen and 1,200 pallet positions for chilled products.
MISC said this facility is designed to meet the international cold chain standard where product quality and safety during storage are assured.
