KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to visit the Tanjung Manis Halal Hub in Sarawak on June 29, to mark the diversification of economic activities through the participation of foreign investors.
According to an advisory from the state information department, Najib is scheduled to officiate at a ground-breaking ceremony at Selumit, for the setting up of a facility by the Sea Party Technology Company Ltd from Taiwan.
The hub, part of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (Score), was launched by former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Feb 18 in Tanjung Manis, and witnessed the signing of an agreement between the company and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation worth RM480 million.
The visit will be Najib’s third official visit to Sarawak in a month. — Bernama
