The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) and Foreign Trade Institute of Pakistan (FTIP) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate the training of trade officers between the two countries.
Pakistan High Commission’s commercial counsellor Majid Qureshi said in a statement Monday that 10 officers of FTIP are here on a 10-day training programme at Matrade.
Qureshi said Malaysia has been selected for the training of Pakistani trade officers as it is a role model for the Asian countries in trade promotions and considered as the best place for such training.
During their training, the officers will study the Malaysian model of modernisation for enhancement of trade, challenges of globalisation, internal trade and trade policy as tools of development, trade maps and other development tools.
The officers will also have hand-on experience in arranging international level trade shows such as the Malaysia International Halal Showcase and World Halal Forum.
The training programme between the two countries is expected to be a regular feature.
