KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec(Bernama) — Food operators in Terengganu which have obtained halal certification from the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) are reminded to display the certificates in their premises.
“The certificates need to be clearly visible to consumers and visitors,” Terengganu Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs (Maidam) chief executive officer Wan Harujan Sulaiman said.
Speaking to reporters here Monday, he said Maidam regarded the matter seriously and that he hoped food operators in the state would abide by the regulations.
“We held a council meeting yesterday and felt that we should focus on the issue of halal certification in the state,” he said.
