Jakim Organises Islamic Innovation Carnival

PUTRAJAYA, July 21 (Bernama) — The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) is organising the National Islamic Innovation Carnival with the theme “Innovative 1Malaysia 1Ummah” at Presint 3, Putrajaya from Aug 5 to 8.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is scheduled to launch the carnival, would present the Islamic Innovation Award at the ceremony, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

He said there would also be awards for halal, Islamic finance, Islamic education and mosque management.

It said an exhibition with 180 participants would also be held besides an Islamic innovation workshop, a forum, a business dialog and a mufti talk.

Visitors also have the opportunity to buy goods at a warehouse sale, it said, adding that among companies taking part were Metrojaya, Bata, Al-Ikhsan Sports Centre and Jakel besides the Customs and Excise Department.
