With the rising numbers of guests coming from Arabic countries in the past two years, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong will be imparting an authentic Arabic touch in its reception of these guests staying at the 5-star hotel.

As part of this hospitality initiative, the hotel has recruited guest relations staff of Arabic origins, while increasing the availability and range of Arabic-language entertainment, Halal cuisines prepared in accordance to Muslim religious rites, and information on prayer rituals.

With effect from this month, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong guest relations team will be strengthened with the recruitment of new colleague of Arabic origin who is familiar with Middle-eastern traditions and customs. Apart from having a choice of up to six Arabian-language newspapers, Arabic guests of the hotel can also watch in-room television programmes from Middle-eastern networks including Al Jazeera, an Arabic satellite news channel TV, and Abu Dhabi TV.

Middle East-Specific Services
Furthermore, copies of the Quran and information related to prayer times are made available for the convenience of the hotel’s Muslim guests. Even the rooms are equipped with Qibla signs pointing to the direction of Mecca.

“As the number of our guests from Middle Eastern countries continues to increase, it is abundantly clear that InterContinental Grand Stanford has become a hotel that Arabic guests love in Hong Kong,” says GM Peter Pollmeier. “We will keep up with the high standards of hospitality that we extend to our guests from Arabic countries, as with those from other cultures around the world, in order to make them feel at home.”

Halal In All Restaurants
The InterContinental Grand Stanford was the first property in Hong Kong to offer Halal prepared cuisine in all its restaurants including Cafe Rendezvous, The Mistral Italian restaurant and Hoi King Heen Cantonese restaurant. Chef Leung Fai Hung, head chef of the hotel’s Chinese restaurant Hoi King Heen, has created a Halal Chinese culinary collection that received great reviews from Arabic guests and media.  Leung is one of the few who holds the recognition International Master Chef for Chinese Cuisine awarded by the World Association of Chinese Cuisine.

Sumptuous Arabic breakfast is available from hotel’s In Room Dining. Selected Arabic dishes, prepared in Halal manner, are also featured in the in-room dining menu.
