Minister of Prime Minister Department, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says, JAKIM has been collaborating with Tourism Ministry and Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) has made coordination to determine hotel to get Certification of Halal. He said, the aspect to consider for the certificate grant is a food, food preparation and another hospitality services. The increasing number of hotels to apply the Certification of Halal will bring the good image for the tourist especially from West Asia. According to him, the Certification of Halal grants to hotels not concerning based on status of star hotel but depending on the outcome monitoring of thoroughly performed by officers JAKIM and HDC. Meanwhile, he also says, Certification of Halal production has get more application and increase to 30 percent since the certification process taken by HDC. Looking for the change of paradigm, the Halal product not only popular in religious among Muslim countries but also outside tourist, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said at a press conference at the lobby Parliament.
