To help local food manufacturers capture a bigger share of Muslim consumers, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negros Occidental Office will conduct a Halal advocacy seminar in Bacolod City from 8:30 am to 3:00pm on May 26, 2009.
The seminar will be held at the Negros Occidental Technology and Livelihood Development Center at Gatuslao St., Bacolod City.
The seminar aims to provide appropriate information on the availability and access to internationally-recognized halal certifying bodies, data on the certification system, and its significance to the 1.5 to 1.8 billion Muslim consumers worldwide and non-Muslims who prefer halal products, through the seminar.
Target participants are food processors and food service providers like hotel and restaurant operators, who are interested to expand into halal food production and marketing. Members of the academe are also welcome.
