DagangHalal Berhad (DagangHalal.com) today signed a partnership agreement with Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) for the development and system adoption of Halal Verified Engine (HVE).
Under the collaboration, DagangHalal.com is responsible for developing and maintaining the HVE system while JAKIM will populate the HVE database with the up-to-date information to validate if a company product is certified by JAKIM. New and renewal applicants for Malaysia Halal certificate can then utilize the HVE system to search for their suppliers products and then compile the information for JAKIM to audit the application. Since this process can be done online in comparison with the current manual document compilation process, it will speed up the halal application process tremendously.
DagangHalal.com will invest RM3.5 million to develop and promote the HVE system worldwide. JAKIM will be the first International Certificate Bodies to adopt the system and to recommend the system to the other certificate bodies so that eventually it will be used and adopted by JAKIM and all other international certification bodies recognized by JAKIM. There are 57 international certification bodies recognized by JAKIM currently.
The HVE system is expected to be online in the first quarter of 2013. There will be three (3) types of users for the HVE system: Public, Certification Bodies and Certificate Applicants. The service is FREE for Public and Certification Bodies while the Certificate Applicants can use the paid service to organize and speed up the application process. The service will be affordable to all certificate applicants as the purpose of the HVE system is to provide convenient services at an affordable price.
The search results for HVE system will improve gradually over time where the Collective Learning Technology will be apply to build the proprietary Halal Trust Score system as one of the main feature in the HVE system. Once the HVE database grown over time, the Public can share and receive most accurate halal information worlwide.
The agreement was signed between Tuan Haji Muhadzir bin Mohd Isa, Chairman of DagangHalal.com and Datuk Othman Mustapha, Director General of JAKIM. The signing ceremony was witnessed by YB Senator Major General Dato’ Seri Jamil Khir Baharom (R), Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.
