KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) — All motor insurance and takaful companies in Malaysia have integrated their systems with that of the ISM No Claim Discount (NCD)for reference to its eligibility.
The integration of various point-of-sales systems (PoS)will result in better service for consumers and control for insurance and takaful companies in the RM6 billion motor insurance business in Malaysia .
In a statement here Wednesday, ISM Insurance Services Malaysia Bhd said with the new policy, all systems are linked to a central database, so consumers no longer need to show proof of their NCD when buying motor insurance.
Consumers will also be automatically provided with the eligible NCD based on the effective date of the new policy.
To ensure better transparency, consumers can verify their NCD online at www.carprices.com.my.
The Chief Executive Officer of ISM, Carl Rajendram, advised consumers to also check the NCD via the ISM system and inform their insurer to update it, if there are any discrepancies in the information.
“A complete list of insurers and takaful company contact numbers are available via the ISM website at www.ism.net.my or by contacting 03-22603289,” he said in the statement.
