KUCHING, Aug 13 (Bernama) — All fastfood restaurants belonging to Sugarbun franchisees in Sarawak and Sabah have “halal” certificates issued by the Malaysian Islamic Development department (Jakim), said Sugarbun Sarawak Marketing Manager Clara Chan here Friday.
She said each halal certificate issued by Jakim had to be renewed every two years, and the company would ensure all its restaurants’ owners obtained the certificate before operating under the name of Sugarbun Franchais Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
“As a main fastfood restaurant company in Sarawak, it does not take lightly on halal certification,” she told Bernama here in conjunction with the company’s promotion of “Big Saving Ramadan Combo”.
Sugarbun, she said, had 26 outlets in Sarawak, one in Sabah, three in Brunei and one in Balgladesh.
